      Hi giesewendy,

I don't understand what you are wanting to change...the text of the "Hire a Resource" link or the fields on the "Hire a Resource" action form, or ???

Generally the changes would be done with Configuration Console, either via security config (for controlling access) or via application config for label changes or to hide/remove fields. The "HireResource" action is quite complex, so there are limits to what you can do with that particular action via config console.

If you can be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish, you will probably get better advice.

I have fields in the Personal Information Tab that I want to input for new hires.  Specifially, Alternate IDs.

So, when we use "Hire A Resource" and we have a variety of fields we can see to enter data, I would like to change or add to those.

Ohhhh... I was afraid you were going to say that.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't do this in the current version of Landmark (or even upcoming versions) without customization by Infor, which they are exceedingly reluctant to do these days and which causes other problems down the road.

One of the reasons I mentioned that the HireResource action is difficult to modify with ConfigConsole is that this action updates multiple business classes, while most other actions touch only a single business class. With ConfigConsole, you really can only modify the UI portion of action request (what you see on the form) and not the business logic (what the form does when the form is submitted and completed). While you can create or modify the Business Logic in custom actions, they are limited to modifying a single business class.

Since Alternate IDs are in a different business class (EmployeeAlternateIdentificationNumber), there is no way to add the logic required to cause those records to be updated through the HireResource (or TAHire) action.

However, you could create a completely new Action and Action Form against the EmployeeAlternateIdentificationNumber business class, and have the HireResource flow (or whatever flow is called by that Action/Service in your environment) call that action request. Then you could create a new IPA Flow that is associated with that new action to handle the appropriate routing.

I realize this isn't an ideal solution, but I don't think there is currently a way to do what you want to do.

If I'm wrong about this, which is certainly possible, I'd love to know how to do it.

            Good Luck!

Thank you. This answers my question. I will research my options.
