    Hello,

We are in the process of implementing Smart Office and would like to use Mashup Designer but there is a lack of documentation for those using S3.  The User Guide mostly references M3 so we can't follow the examples.  Does anyone have Mashup Designer documentation for S3 users?

Also we are curious as to how many organizations are actually using Smart Office/Mashup Designer.

Thanks in advance for your response!

      Hi Jeanne,

      I've working with M3, not S3...
But i've seen that a documentation is online into Mashup (menu Help (on top/right into Mashup Designer tool) / External Resourcey /Lawson S3 Technology Blog).

That' right there is one problem with this tool : the documentation... or lack of documentation...
I'm using Mashup since 4 months and i've opened many Cases about Mashup...
I can give you some advises :
      - installed all JTs about bookmarks (without bookmarks or with old code about bookmarks, yours mashup will don't work fine)
      - you have to have some "courage and patience" : you have to learn alone (or with forums...) how works with Mashup
      - used all example on M3... (into Mashup tool) to have some example
      - Mashup is a very very great power tool (i discover each day how this tool is complete)...

Is Mashup Designer a separatly licensed product ($) or included with Smart Office? I too am having trouble finding any information regarding Mashup.

Hi, Mashup is effectively a separated product and you have to buy licences for each LSO's user (i thinking you can't bought 20 Mashup's licence with 100 LSO's licence...)

              Hi Jeanne,
The S3 Technology blog has a series of recordings on Mashups from a S3 perspective. (7 different parts).
              Check out http://blogs.infor.com/s3...on-mashup-designer/.
Inforum in Orlando will be a great opportunity to ask questions and join the lab, I think they call it Academy.
There is some documentation available from within the Mashup Designer.

But I agree that the user documentaion is very basic how to use the tool, not how to create a solution to a problem. Hopefully blogs and forums will still give you a good start.

I see its been a few weeks since this post but will agree that the S3 blog site is a great place to start. The demo i did last summer may be out on that site as well. Mashups are powerful, they can help streamline your business processes. I have a number of mashups built around Activities, PO, Grants, etc. If you have specific questions on how to get started I can definitely help with that. The biggest thing you need with Mashups is vision. You have to know what you are trying to address.

The nice thing is that each of us could work the same requirements, come up with the same answer and all have mashups that look differently. My presentation from last year's Inforum should be on the site and i can send this years to people if they want to use it for ideas.

Reach out with questions. The only way this section is going to take off is for us to collaborate on issues and solutions.

                  Hi Jeanne,

Our company purchased Smart Office and my team (AP) is in the beginning stages of implementing Smart Office. I attended several sessions on Smart Office at Inforum in Orlando so I'm excited about the possibilities it offers for the team. We did not purchase Mashup; however, I've inquired about this with our IT team.

                  Thank you,
                  Tony

Pat - I did get the Mashup Designer User Guide.  Thank you

Mark - I would love any documentation, examples that you would be willing to share.  My e-mail is jscheno@geisinger.edu.  Thanks!

Can anyone tell me where I add the toolbar for a S3 form within Mashups.  I want to use the Add, Change and Delete buttons to the form I am using in my mashup.

First of all, is this possible?  In the Mashup User Guide on page 5 it says "In most cases, Infor program data used in a mashup is read-only.  It cannot be updated directly thour the mashup.  However, the Infor program that updates the data can be called from the mashup and then the program data can be updated."

                        Jeanne,

I agree that the paragraph you mention is a bit confusing.

Yes, you can add/change/delete data with a FormPanel within a Mashup.  All actions for a FormPanel in a Mashup are available via a right-click within the control.  In the current GA release, you'll need to hand code the command buttons within the .xaml if this is desirable.  Please shoot me an email if you would like me to send you an example.

In the next release of the MUD, the FormPanel control will have a checkbox within the Settings that will add the command toolbar for you without having to add it to the code manually.

                          Pat,

Thanks for the info.  We finally got some mashups working and I did manage to add the form function buttons to my mashup.  We also discovered if you right click within the form you get the form functions as well.

Unfortunately we can't go to the new version of Smart Office until we upgrade to Windows 7 but the new option to add the toolbar sounds nice.

                          Thanks again,
                          Jeanne

I thought there were two versions of LSO coming out 10.1 and 10.0.52 with basically the same functionality but the 10.052 will be supported on XP SP3 until XP is no longer supported by Microsoft. We are planning to install 10.1 this week in our Non Prod Environment but were concidering the other route as we have a few people still running XP in our business areas.

LSO 10.1 and 10.0.52 don't have the exact same functionality. We have pushed down some of the enhancements becuase 10.0.5 will be around for a while but 10.1 is the new version with all the features that we have. 10.1 is 32 bit (even on a 64 bit machine) so if you have web content that use plugins that only come as 32 bit plugings (such as Silverlight) you should consider that as a factor as well.

There are service packs / fixpacks coming rather soon for 10.1 and 10.0.5.1, but I can't give you a date.

                                  Karin,
we are about to start the 10.1 upgrade, have you completed one of these? It seems like we start by reinstalling Grid then LSO 10.1 and the add-in piece. Is that correct?
