Education Degress via ESS

Started By  Margie Gyurisin
WE would like to allow employees to add their education degrees (pa20 data) via ESS.  The problem I am encountering is that  if you have nothing listed or a current degreee with the verified flag as a 'Y', the data the employee enters will have the flag set to a 'Y'.  Unless someone completes primary source verification, we need the flag to be set to a 'N'.  Has anyone encountered this  What did you do to fix it Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have an upload template for HR22 to change/delete rows We've just loaded in a bunch of records and we now need to change/remove many of them. Our standard template won't work with just changing the 'FC' to C/D. Cannot figure this out at all! Thanks for your help.

401k plan set up best practice

Started By  scuba80
I am making some significant changes to the 401k plan.  To give you an idea of the current set up, there seems to be 4 different plans; Roth flat $, Roth , pretax flat $, and pretax .  We currently use a flat dollar match and do not have a separate catch up plan.  I am removing the flat $ contribution option, moving to a match, and do not match the catch up plan.  In terms of lift, what would it take to combine the roth and pretax into 1 plan on BN15  I do not want to match the catch up...

401k Match and Catchup

Started By  tpeissig
I have the pleasure of creating a 401k plan with match.  However we have catchup in the same plan and do not want to match on the catchup.  Is it possible to keep the plans together, match up to the regular $17,500, but not match on the catchup contributions  I haven't found anyone yet who does it.  It seems like it catchup is usually kept in a separate plan and then there is programming done to track the limits and match.

Pennsylvania Taxes

Hello- we are a NY employer just adding a new enity located in Pennsylvania for the first time.  We use Lawson/BSI .  We have some questions regarding the tax authority set up  and assigning the PSD codes and in addition tracking the PSD for tax reporting. .  I see that we need to  set up the codes on PR06.1-PR69.1. When checking BSI for a home address,  for example,  we see that we need withholding for Eldred Borough and also Otto-Eldred School District. Would we need to set up 2 tax authori...

Termination Final Pay in Oregon

Started By  MonikaS
We are in the State of Oregon and the final pay for involuntary terminations has to be produced within 24 hours.  Our internal customers expect us to deliver the final pay within 1 hour of notice. How do you handle the final pay on extremely short notice when you are in the middle of a full cycle, you already closed the month, or already processed payroll with a future month date and cannot re-run PR198 or run it in sections. Do you hand write checks for HR, run them via AP, or use other metho...

Annual Enrollment - Missing Coverage Option for FSA on BS31

Started By  FireGeek21
Right now we do not process annual enrollment as an immediate update but we are considering it for next year.  Our current concern is that when we review the BS31 prior to updating with BN531 we find aobut 1/3 of our population electing FSA does not have a value entered into the Coverage Option field.  The value should be the number of pay periods (24).  We have not been able to identify any specific cause for this.  We opened a ticket with Lawson, unfortunately they want us to recreate the issu...

W4's and Employee Self-Service

Started By  Terry P
For those that have implemented ESS and the Tax Withholding form (W-4). How are you handling making sure you have a printed copy of the document is turned in or kept on file. I believe the requirements are a minimum of 4 years. There is no notification, like address or direct deposit changes. You could turn on auditing for the fields and report those. But that is not the same as having a copy of the W-4.

PA31 Applicant Form

Started By  Deleted User
Not LTM related, this is 'old' applicant functionality - PA31 history tab has 'previously employed' and the option for an EE number if the prior response is yes - field help says 'select the applicant's previous employee number' - our form has no select option.  v9.01 - is this a patch, or just the usual vague field help for what's actually a free form entry  Tech and data file text isn't any help on this one - Thanks!!

Shared Direct Reporting

Started By  Dave Curtis
Let me start by giving you the end of an email that has brought this up again into my view finder; '... managers need to share their direct report access. (We are not a hierarchal model). We share :) ' This topic has come up a number of times in the 15 years I have worked in HRIS with Lawson and it has always 'gone away' without much of a strugle, this time it is not going to, so I am reaching out in hopes someone has some ideas or proven tactic that might make this possible. ESS - employee self service - direct deposit banking drop down

Started By  egagel
I work at Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY. We are having issues with employees using the drop down banking information. Some of the information (routing numbers) it stores is incorrect, therefore it is becoming an issue because many employees are not getting their direct deposits.... Does anyone know how we can remove/disable the drop down in ESS so the employees have to manually key everything from their checks into the system Thanks Elizabeth

New Hire Benefit Enrollment for Future Dated Hires

Started By  SimmonsM
We would like to have the functionality of allowing new employees to enroll in benefits via ESS prior to their date of hire. We have been successful in interfacing future hires from LTM to S3, as well as setting up security roles for future hires, however, receive the attached error. We tried working around this by establishing the BenDate 5 field as the date the hire is approved, however, recieve the error 'Employee Does Not Exist. HR Organization=1000, Employee=95213.' Is there any work around...

How do you handle reciprocal state employees?

Hello. Currently, when an employee lives in 1 state and works in another the payroll department runs a weekly report to identify who these employees are and payroll manually adds a 1 on the work state withholding deduction code, cert code field on PR13.1. Payroll has asked that this process be automated but I have a few questions and thought maybe you all could tell me how you handle it. Here are my questions: Questions about automating adding a 1 in work state withholding deduction code cert c...

CSV Reports - including blank columns

Let me open by saying, I do not have direct access to a Lawson system - I am supporting users of another system that relies on getting data from Lawson HR/Payroll for regular employee updates. The system I work with makes use of employee demographics (ID's, Name, Employ Date, Separation Date, Home address, Phone, and then fields lik...
