What types of learning curve will be experienced with:
upgrade from enviro 8.0.3.7 (windows) to LSF 9?
upgrade from apps 8.1 (windows) to apps 9? (HR/PR, GL/AP, EMSS, Process Flow).

We are considering using the learning library courses and the lawson provided documentation only versus paying for a trainer to come in. Is this feasible?

Are there a LOT of changes for the LSF9?
Are there a LOT of changes to the apps9?

    Thanks

We are about to go live with our 9.0.1 app from 8.0.3MSP11. We don't really see big differences with exception of RSS. I don't think you need much training in application side. They are very similar.

On the environment side, that's another story. The security admin will need to learn how to create user via security administrator and RM etc.

Thanks for the reply, that is comforting. Are you speaking about GL/AP and HR/PR suites as well as ESS/MSS?

I am dealilng with the security admin changes in lsf9 as we are implementing that upgrade right now.

We use GL/AP/HR/PR etc, there are a handful of programs on top of my head that was changed. The PMTOUT format is changed for check print. There's one program in AP that was phrased out and another program was used etc. Not much to worry about.

Majority of my test users were able to navigate and test 9.0.1 app without any assistance.

ESS/RSS/MSS have big interface changes. You will need a trainer for that to write up training documentation.
