Windows Server 2008 and Vertex Sales Tax Q series

Started By  John Costa
I don't know if anyone else has run into this issue but here goes. I have a Windows Server 2008 box running LSF 9.0.1.5 and Applications 9.0.1.  I've been troubleshooting a problem with Quantum Vertex Sales Tax 'Q' series (ISAM) version 3.1.5.  The problem I have is that if any Lawson application attempts to access the vst.dll library in the utils folder of the Vertex installation folder, an error will be thrown indicating that the vst.dll library cannot be found on the path. I've gone rou...

On my test system I set up Lawson (I assume) to now use the https connections, everything seems to work fine but when I bring up the /bpm/menu.do I get the following message in all frames: The requested URL is not supported outside the Lawson Portal: home.htm I did run the pfserv config to configure Lawson to use https, are there extra steps I am neglecting in this process  I have been flying somewhat blind as I have been able to find little to no documentation about why menu.do is now do...

SQL Server 2008 R2 - Backing up Databases using compression

Started By  ekbelt
It seems like I read somewhere (maybe in an older version) that it was not recommended to have database compression turned on when using SQL Server. We just did an upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 and LSF 9.0.1.10. In our current test environment doing a backup on our 240GB database it completes in 6 minutes using the new data compression features in SQL Server 2008 R2... incredible! Without compression it took 36 miuntes, still 4 times faster than our current instance in SQL Server 2005 (takes ...

Upgrading Hardware Power 7 V6

Started By  Ronald
We are upgrading our system from a V5R4 to a Power7 V6 system.  We plan on doing a Restore All from Tape of our Prod to the new system.  I was told that I will need to download the Lawson Environment for the V6 and the patches included.  I need to know is there anything I should be looking out for once we do this.  I tried to talk to support but of course they don't support such a thing and I don't want to purchase another agreement just to get the run aroun Has anyone done this before and ar...

Initial slowness after 9.0.1.11 upgrade

Started By  Gary P
If only there was a head scratcher category!  We upgraded our test environment from 9.0.1.5 to 9.0.1.11 and portal to match.  In addition we upgraded AIX from 5.3 to 7.1, WebSphere from 6 to 7, Oracle from 10G to 11G, and moved ADAM from 2003 server to 2008 R2.  Anyway, after the upgrade we are encountering this odd issue.  After a reboot, or the first time you access another persons information - say like time entry detail from summary approval, the reponse time is horribly slow.  After that fi...

How to check for system up from command line

Started By  Woozy
Hi All - We are looking for a simple way to determine if our S3 application is 'up' from the command line.  By 'up', I mean that users should be able to log in and use the system. What we are trying to do is find a way for our external scheduler to confirm that S3 is running before it kicks off an external process. Is there a command or utility that will provide output that a script can evaluate to determine that the system is available Thanks for your help!

Automated notification of failed jobs

Started By  Terry P
We are running on Windows platform, 9.0.1 We have batch jobs that are run daily (some three times a day) under a 'generic user'. If for whatever reason there is an error in running the scheduled job (like PA113), it will be put into a 'Needs recovery' status under the Waiting Jobs tab of Job Schedule. The next time the job runs, it will just sit there until the prior one has been recovered or deleted. Is there a way to be notified if a job fails and is sitting there in a recovery status I...

bldmsf2000ddl assistance

Started By  CindyW
We have a testing data area that has been updated with lots of patches, far beyond our production version. One or more of those patches required reorgs.  ( This was just a few months ago.)  Our users test the new patches as they can.  Recently, we needed a program tested for a certain scenario, and the data area was refreshed with data from Production.  Oops.  Now we have a data mismatch situation, for several tables.  We've dealt with this mismatch thing before, but not to this degree - not ...

Portal

Started By  Mick
Good day, Portal, Does not display error messages. I know there is a kb article (KB 1198011 ) that pertains to this subject, but I'm hearing there is a work around for this 2nd question. I'm wanting to set up a group of users say based on a security class and push those bookmarks for that group. No we are not on LS and I know this cannot be done using laua, but, I'm hearing there is a way to do this via a template Thank you

Converting Windows NT Userid

Started By  Terry P
We have a ProcessFlow that is required to read the BUYER table using the index BUYSET3. The segmented key is COMPANY OPERATOR-ID. When you look at the record in PO04.1 it is displayed like this: But when doing a query, you must use what I call the 'NT userid' which is something like 'NT0000002b'. Is there anyway within ProcessFlow to convert the id of 'pickering' to the actual value stored on the table I've tried using a system command of listusermap but don't always have success.

Has anyone seen or heard of this condition before If I am on the server where LSF is installed, and I attempt the URL: http:///sso/SSOServlet  I get the login page. I enter the correct ID and password (LSF is bound to AD). However the first time I attempt to log in, it does not work, and brings me back to the login page. The 2nd time, I enter the same login credentials, and voila it works.  Regular Portal login works on 1st attempt. This is win2008 on LSF 10.0.2 I don't se...

Reboots and recurring jobs

Started By  Mary Porter
Our hosting vendor backs up and reboots our Unix system every night. We have recurring WH130, PO120, ED502 jobs set up for every 15 minutes that go into recovery and so every morning there is a clean up to get everything going again. So we are wondering how everyone else handles the situation, do we need to set up a different recdef for each 15 minute increment of the day and then set that to run once a day in order to not have any jobs run while the backup / reboot is happening If so, is ther...

Security Issue - Executing Lawson Utilities

Started By  Garth Gerwing
We designed some integration between the WCB's enterprise scheduler (TIDAL) and Lawson - so that we could fire Lawson batch jobs in an automated fashion. Now that it is promoted to PROD - can't seem to get it going   Design at high level: Shell script executing the Lawson utilities: WTSUBMIT & JOBSTATUS in succession.  We have a specific userid setup on AD and Lawson - to support automated batch ex...
