Lawson Virtualization.

Started By  Jimmy Chiu
Good news for all lawson administrators. Lawson recently issued virtualization and hardware support statement. In a nutshell, lawson supports lawson products on stated OS, this includes OS on virtualized hardware. Your infrastructure, your choice! Details can be found on mylawson support .

print directory files cleared on next recurring job run

Started By  Kirk
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
We were on LSF9, ESP6, but upgraded to ESP8 this weekend.  We now see a new behaviour that did not happen in ESP6.   Basically, we have some recurring jobs (some of which run multiple times per day), and we had added a 'post-run' job that would duplicate the *prt and *dtl files with copies (with timestamp-based 'unique' names).  These copies of the prt files would remain in the print directory, even after the job ran again and created (over-wrote) the 'regular' prt and dtl files.  This enabled o...

Looking for help with AGS Call

Started By  LauraP
We are still on release 8.0.3/Unix/Oracle. We have several Visual Basic programs that do AGS calls to various Lawson forms (OE10, RQ10 for example). In some cases, when passing the FC value (for a change for example) - the VB app passes a 'C' and in other cases it passes the whole word 'CHANGE'. We have an issue now where VB apps that used to pass the whole word 'CHANGE' via the AGS call are no longer working - they have to be changed to pass just the 'C'. We are trying to figure out...

What database is my environment hitting ?

Started By  Robert W. Schottman
I am having two issues with getting my test environment up and running that I can't seem to find any good info on our there in Lawson support land. 1) My test environment, while up and running, is still pulling data from my production database, not my test database. I found the CAPS file = MICROSOFT, but any manipulation of that file doesn't seem to have any bearing on where the environment gets it's data. 2) I mistakenly ran 'laconfig -install' while trying to figure out issue 1. It saw my e...

Started By  Nathan Smith
I'm trying to make sense of the product compatibility matrix as we look at going from LSF 9.0.1.9 to 9.0.1.10 or 9.0.1.11. Our current server is Windows Server 2008 standard. The Perl seciton of the product compatibility matrix looks like this:   Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) Standard, Enterprise Data Center Edition Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) Standard, Enterprise Data Center Edition Perl 5...

Custom Inbasket Exec Deployment for RQC 10.0.2

Started By  SP
My apologies in advacen for the xpost, but I started thinking maybe this was more of an admin question.  ;-) I'm looking for anyone who can offer advice w.r.t. implementing custom recsum.htm (inbasket execs) on RQC 10.0.2 and higher.  I am working with a consultant who has given me copies of a 'standard' recsum.htm and a custom version of same to add to the bpm execs. Of course I followed the steps to add the execs to the bpm.war and then rebuild and redeploye the bpm.ear, but the results ...

Multiple IE Sessions

Started By  Jim Newman
The following is a way to have multiple lawson sessions open and not have them share information across the session.  For example you can be logged in as 2 different users. Create a new shortcut for IE by following the steps below:     1.  Right click on your desktop and select New / Shortcut from the popup menu.     2.  Enter the text below for the location             'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe' -nomerge     3.  Click Next     4.  Give the shortcut a name     5. ...

Solaris compatibility

Started By  Greg Moeller
Anyone out there running on Solaris  We're running Solaris 10, and I just found out that until today, Infor development had not even had Solaris 11 on their roadmap for certification. I'd suspect that they currently are 'fast-tracking' Solaris 11 certification... but I'm glad that we asked the question as some of the new servers require Solaris 11.

Simple mv token failing

Started By  KB
Good morning.  I wanted to throw this out there on lawsonguru.  I am running into an issue with a simple token that is part of a jobstream.  The token is literally a mv command to move the file from one location to another.  When I run the command from the command line it works.  When I run the command from within jobdef submitting the stream I get a file does not exist and the job goes into waiting. Anyone run into this before

Terminate a multi-step job?

Started By  mikeP
On Lawson Windows, I have a multi-step job in which the first step runs  a token to copy some files.   The token runs a Windows command file, which calls a VB script. If that step errors, I want to terminate processing without running the second step.  Previously on Lawson iSeries AS400, we'd use a Lawson program called LA200 to perform file copies, and its paramter form had a 'Is failure critical' setting that could be used for this purpose. There's no LA200 program on Lawson Windows, an...

Job overwrites a different job

Started By  Mary Porter
We have a user with two separate job definitions for the same form. The jobs are called PR132R and PR132U. When the user runs the PR132R, it puts the print files in the print directory for PR132R. When the user runs PR132U, it also puts the print files in the print directory for PR132R, overwriting the previously run PR132R print files. There is nothing in the print directory for PR132U. We had the user delete those jobs and add new ones and the behavior is still the same.  In the Job Schedule y...

Upgrading LSF 9.0.1.8 - 9.0.1.10 (WAS Fix packs?)

Started By  Jon
We're looking to upgrade our ESP from 9.0.1.8 to 9.0.1.10. I'm a little confused on what versions of the WAS fixpacks to use We're also coupled with Landmark 9.2.3.2. It appears our Landmark fixpack has to stay on 7.0.0.13, but LSF says minimum fixpack 21. Also we have some end-points that tie back to LSF & LMK Just trying to figure out what is the best method for this Or should I just leave everything on Fixpack 13 Any suggestions on handling this LSF App - Minimum Fixpack 21 Lan...

I've seen a couple of threads on this same issue, but none of the resolutions apply to me.  I have a fresh install in Windows Server 2008 R2.  The laconfig command shows the environment, but none of the additional installs list this environment.  Can anyone offer assistance on correcting this issue

Infor Process Automation connection to LSF

Started By  TimB
We recently installed Landmark and are now looking more into IPA.  I set up a quick email IPA to make sure it works and it sent the email as expected.  So, I would now like to use IPA with LSF.  I found a guide 'Infor Lawson System Foundation Using Infor Process Automation Configuration Guide'  The process for configuring IPA to work with LSF doesn't look horrible, but I am stuck with a question during the initial setup of the IPA productline. When you get to the configure database access sec...

Re-submitting bad compiles on Windows server

Started By  slavo
There are a number of shell scripts I have seen that re submit bad compiles on a Unix server.  By bad compile I mean programs that fail a compile and have a .err file in ...\ directory.  But I am relatively new to the Windows systems and wonder if anyone out there might have a BAT file equivalent script  Perhaps a perl script can work as well

Copy LDAP data (users, roles, rules, classes, etc) from prod to test

Started By  Jonas
This is a TDS LDAP.  LSF 9.0.1 on AIX I found (here) how to copy users from LDAP to LDAP using an undocumented (that I could find) feature of ldifgen.   However, unless there is another undocumented feature ldifgen doesn't dump the rules and security classes.     I can create an ldif using jxplorer, of course, but if there is a Lawson tool or a preferred method, I'd rather not re-invent the wheel. Anyone know how to do this  Am I barking up the wrong cat
