Environment commands for Portal security

    Prior to Lawson 10, we had were solely LID users and could manage many items, recdef, distribution group maintenance/additions/view members, etc.

     

    When on laua security, it would take them directly to the menu and the tasks could be performed by typing recdef in the form transfer.

     

    Now that we are on 10, the decision to not allow LID access as been made and everyone is LS security.  The issue is maintaining distribution groups or even see members of the groups through Portal.  Lawson has provided the recdef functionality which is great. Is there a environment command that needs to be added to users security to allow them to add/maintain/see users of distribution groups?

      Have you looked at the security in the Environment (ENV) profile? All of the executibles (sp) that you normally see in GENDIR/bin (for example) are included there, including user group definition (usergrpdef) and dstlstgrpdef.

        I actually have an open Infor case for this same issue. I am not able to find the dstlstgrpdef executable under the ENV list of executables. I found usergrpdef under Environment Group Utilities. The only two "dst..." executables found are dstlstgrpr and dstlstgrpd. Any suggestions on where the dstlstgrpdef executable is?

        My developer says that she is not able to access laenv under her ID. She has the SuperAdminRole which has all ENV executables assigned to it.

          Infor came back to me and said: "Run the command grpdef in LID to access the distribution group menu then run the command dstlstgrpdef for distribution list group menu." My Developer has confirmed she can manage groups this way.

          The question we have now is how to assign a group to a job?

            To assign a group to a job go into jobdef, Select your job, identify the Step you want to associate with the group, do a define, and select Report Distribution. Then for Destination do a Select for Dist Group, and put the name of the group into the Group/* Print field.
