We are in the process of upgrading to Infor 10. In the installation guide under SharePoint it refers to an Info10 Workspace Installation and Configuraiton Guide.  I can't find that document anywhere on the Infor Xtreme site. It was recommended to us to install Workspace in a separate SharePoint farm. Our SharePoint administrator wanted to get more information about the requirements so we can make a decision if we need to install Workspace in our existing enterprise farm, a new enterprise farm, or just a generic new foundation farm.  Any suggestions or help getting my hands on the installation and configuration guide would be greatly appreciated.

There may be some official install/config documents floating around, but I've never seen any.

I took the v10 install course last year, and there wasn't one. We basically created our own documentation. (No, I am not sending it out to anyone.

There is the Infor10 Authentication Configuration guide available. This documents how to perform LS to STS and Kerberos install and config. Infor Workspace installation is a prerequisite requirement.

Hello. My executives are looking at adding the Lawson 9.1.x to Lawson Infor 10 upgrade to our project list this year, and I see that you have already started your project.

Could you please provide me with a fair estimate of about how long this upgrade takes to complete? (we have Procurement / Dist / Financials / complex Pflow / light Design Studio / laua security)

Hi Marilyn, we have started the upgrade.  We are contracting with Ciber Consulting to assist.  We just started the proof of concept install in our test environment this week.  Our project timeline has us upgrading our production environment and going live the first week in September.  Along with the upgrade we are also implementing SmartOffice for the first time.

I had a hard time finding it... You have to go to Documentation, then browse to Ming.le

I just started looking at the v10 install documentation to get an idea of what's coming up - apparently there is a component called "Lawson for Workspace" which is required in order to run "Infor Workspace". Found the following in the upgrade guide and am just wondering if this is for real?

"To install the Lawson for Workspace, see the Lawson for Workspace Installation Guide, the Infor
Lawson 10 Authentication Configuration Guide, the Lawson Plugins for Infor10 Workspace Installation
Guide , the Infor10 Workspace Installation and Configuration Guide , and the Distributed Security
              Package Installation Guide."

                Yes, it is 'for real'.

There are 5 different guides to reference, and they all have to be done in the correct order, ... oh... and because Ming.le is the new Workspace, you can substitute Ming.le for the Workspace Install, but you still need the Plugins for Workspace. Also you need the correct (read: working) version of DSSO/DSP.

Thanks. Say goodbye to "simpler is better" I guess. Without some sort of higher-level documentation to sort out all these components, we will probably have to bring in a consultant to help us make sense of it. Seems like a heck of a lot of overhead just to run some financial applications.

On a related note, I'm assuming that the "Lawson Plugins for Infor10 Workspace Installation Guide" is the installation guide for the application called "Workspace Plugin for Infor Lawson for Workspace," but is "Infor Lawson for Workspace" the same thing as "Infor10 Workspace" or are they two different applications?

Yes the plugins guide is the install guide for workspace plugins.

Infor Lawson for Workspace is the same thing as Infor10 Workspace. Note also it's not to be confused with S3 for Workspace/Infor or whatever they are calling it.

S3 for Workspace/Infor is the new name for the actual Portal component,

I know it's very confusing, and they (Infor) can do a better job on what component is what and how they are named.
