We upgraded from 8.0.3 hpux to 9.0.0.5 windows on December 15th 2008. We are using IC588 to process interface files from Synthes, Amerisource and Cardio Connect. The current IC588 is working on our production box but not our other system (prod2). The current production box is having major issues and we are rebuilding everything from scratch. The new server has an issue with IC588 and does not work at all. Lawson is aware of the issue but has no plans to fix it because they don't support that program anymore. We get the interface files from these other systems at different times during the day. The ic588 worked great for this and processed the data after the upload. How can we duplicate this process without ic588? Any sugestions would be helpful.

    Thanks.

You have a couple of options. One, run the RQ500 jobs throughout the day. If the file doesn't exist the job will still complete - it just won't process anything. Two, create your own "listener" program to check for the files and if found then have it process your RQ500 jobs.

If you have ProcessFlow Integrator, this might be an option to check if a file exists and then trigger your RQ500 job. PFI can also update the RQ500 parameters (like file name) if needed.

        David,

Thanks for the response. What we did was setup two jobs that run a step job of RQ500 then PO100 for each vendor and location. The job is 18 steps long. Then we scheduled them so a job runs every 15 minutes. The only thing I'm not sure about is the system gets rebooted everynight and what is going to happen to those jobs when the system comes back up? In recdef we have a "grace time" of 1 and "if late" as next. We reboot at 1:00 a.m. every night. What will happen to this job after the system comes back up. When we used IC588 we always stop the job at 7:00 p.m. every night..

The jobs should just run on schedule when the system completes its reboot.
