Hi.. We are going through the J.I.T. implemenation right now and ready to start working with our item data.

We are going to be about 95% JIT on our par carts inventory.  Can anyone give some tips or ideas on how you setup your par locations and the item replenishment?   I know that we can set each item to replenish from our JIT vendor, but that would mean touching each line of each par location.  And currently we are without add-ins.

So, is there an alternative way to do this, with regards to keeping admin down on par locations if changes are made to the item?  For instance if the item is no longer JIT tomorrow, I would rather not touch all par location lines..doing it at a higher level.

The catch is that we are coming up in phases, so we will have some par levels getting the items JIT, and some getting the item from the base vendor until all phases are up and running.

    We are 8.03 apps, LSF9.

    Thanks!

A key piece of info you left out is how Pars are counted and by whom?  A little more insight into the entire process is helpful.

The standard answer is you must set Pars up line-by-line in order to use Lawson Pars.  IC82 is Par Mass Change (ex. an item is no longer JIT tomorrow).

Use the old load program, IC840 to accomplish the conversion and ongoing maintenance.  IC840 use .csv format so it's easy to create files with Excel (even though you don't own Add-Ins).  Attached is the load format for v8.0.3.

Thanks Bill for the reply.. I actually have never used IC840, but it looks like that will definitely come in handy for this project.

I figured out how we are going to implement Just in Time using the Lawson stockless feature on the requesting locations. This is what I was looking for and works like a charm.
