Just wondering what everyone uses to manage their contracts from a supply contract to a service contract to a physician contract.  We have Contract Management which is where the majority of our contracts reside including all three types listed previously, but there are still quite a few supply contracts left in PO25 that our contracts team has been working to move to CM.

I would like to know if there is another system that interfaces with Lawson that anyone uses or just your general thoughts on managing contracts and what works for you when it comes to the data entry/maintenance - not so much negotiating.  Thanks!

Great questions...  We are looking to implement Lawson Contract Management and I wanted to see if others were using and how they were using.  We currently have a product C360 that houses our Physician (employeed and non-employeed ) Contracts, Service and all IT contracts.  Can Lawson CM handle these?

Technically speaking, yes it can handle them but our issue is the security.  There isn't a great way to separate the security (which is what our Corporate Compliance department says is necessary for the Physician Contracts).  The security is done by the Contract Classification, so we had to create all new ones, with very limited characters to ensure that as we continued to add new ones, they could be added to someone's security.  We found by accident that there is a character limit in the security which forced the new classifications.

We had always planned to use Contract Management for all supply and service contracts, but the Physician contracts kind of fell in our lap.  Overall, there are a lot of features that we don't use but would probably be beneficial if you do it from the start.  We had intentions of using the Supplier Portal but due to other issues, never got around to utilizing it and at this point, I don't know if we ever will.

I would suggest that someone goes to the 5 day training Infor offers (or at least they did a couple years ago) for Contract Management, I think there's a web-based option as well.  There are so many parts to learn about and understand, especially since it's a completely separate module from S3.  They are saying in v11 that it will all be on the same platform which would make things easier.
