Has any one used Addins to upload new receipts to PO30.1.

I am finding I need to run it twice. Once to add the receiver then again to add the lines to the receiver.

    Any insights would be helpful,
    Thanks

      Sue,
That is pretty much going to be your only option. This applies to all similar screens that have mutiple detail lines underneath header information (basically, any screen that you need to hit the [Page Down] key to see the next set of lines).

      The Exception - Small Documents
If you are creating a receiver that has five or fewer lines, you can create a file that explicitly details each of the fields. In essence, your spreadsheet becomes horizontal rather than vertical. As an example, rather than just pointing to field 41, to enter the function code and then going to the next line of your spreadsheet; you would have a column that relates to field 41 and a field that relates to field 127 (the second function code field). Now multiply that out by each data element necessary to create a valid receipt line.

Caveat 1 - The spreadsheet can be extremely tedious to build, especially when you are trying to line up with existing information (as you are in your receiver). This process is much easier when the file is fully creating the information (as you might be in creating a requisition or purchase order). Incidentally, it was in the creation of reqs and POs for system/load testing that I have used process--so it can work.

Caveat 2 - It is important to fill all of your "blank" cells with "spaces". This true for values that are truly null and for fields where you expect a value to be system-populated. The space clears out anything left in the cell from the previous record. Personally, I use a combination of hyphens and spaces. The hypen, in MS Excel, forces the cell format to text and is ignored in Add-Ins--it is simply a flag to show that I have a space in that cell. It looks like (' ) (without the parentheses).

Basically, you are doing what you want in the most efficient way I can think of. The time and energy needed to create a single-sweep-file would almost certainly outweigh any benefits.

      Good luck,

On most forms with multiple detail lines like PO30, you can use the Position To field to upload to rows after the first five. Did you try mapping in PT-PRL-PO-LINE-NBR? I haven't tried it on PO30, but it works on other similar screens.

Is there any way to get the PO30 to release with the upload? I have a map that will work for everything but releasing.

You cannot do the release action with addins.

Thanks, Jon - That's what I thought, but there's always hope, right?

I do hope someday they modify Addins to do special actions like release. They have an Add then Change function, why not a Change then Release?

OK, we figured out a way with 2 uploads - one to add the receiver and lines in PO30 and then another one to upload the release file to PO35.  It's working great!

Hi Leslie!  Could you provide more detail about your solution?  Thanks!

PO35 is a release screen like PO22 releases POs. You upload to the position to fields and then put the FC on r0 and change.
