Recently it was requested that we (IT) find an automated method to track and calculate overtime for employees in California who work 4-10 hour days.

We currently have a separate pay plan and use PR132 to calculate the 1.5x OT for > than 8 hours a day, 1.5x OT for > than 40 hours a week, 2.0x OT for > than 12 hours a day and the 7 consecutive day rule of 1.5x regular rates for the first 8 house and 2x for any hours over 8.

Can anyone share how they track a different work schedule in standard Lawson, and/or additional software used to track and calculate this?  We've been asked to calculate OT for this alternate work schedule:  1.5x OT for > than 10 hours a day; 2x OT for > 12 hours; working more than a 40 hour work week, working a non-scheduled work day.

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

      Hello Jill,
Our Payroll supervisor setup a new pay plan on PR21.1 (BWCA) for California. The manager wanted the 4 - 10s but HR/PR said no, so they only worked 8hr days. We only had 1 or 2 employees at the time, the temp assignment ended so for now we don't have to worry about Cal.

      thanks,
      Lisa
