I'm looking for help setting up security access for Applicant Self Service. The only documentation available discusses how to setup in the Personnel system. Since applicant self service is designed for external applicants who must be on our network, I need to know how to setup those applicants. Does each applicant require a unique RD30 record? What is needed on the RD30 record? What LAUA security setup is needed for Applicant Self Service? etc.. We are 8.0.3 and are in the process of rolling our ESS and MSS.

Let's start with the easy stuff:
Yes, each employee needs an RD30 record, of type "Employee", and with the company and employee filled in. ABSOLUTELY, make sure that the "Access" flag = N.
As for the forms security requirements, that depends on which tasks you are implementing; in other words, you don't need to expose benefits forms if you aren't rolling out benefits self service.
Be aware that certain SEA pages have drill-around options on them, which can expose the employee's personal information to their manager/supervisor. Hiding it requires either modifications to the SEA pages or use of file security to achieve (which is the reason some organizations implement separate usernames for manager vs. employee). The employee classes would then have access to their own info, while the manager classes do not. Which means that a manager uses a "manager" login when performing manager functions (personnel actions, etc.) but then uses his/her "employee" login, to change address, W4, etc. etc.
If you have employees performing other non-employee self service roles (i.e. requisitions, customers, etc.) you will also want to consider multiple usernames. Some organizations use separate usernames for Lawson user (i.e. someone who works in HR or Payroll, Finance, etc.), employee, manager, and requisitions. A lot of work, but if tight security is the goal, it's the only way until you get to LSF 9.0 security.

I'm looking specifically for Applicant Self Service. Not ESS or MSS. We are implementing those too, but my question relates only to setup of Applicant Self Service. The only documentation I can find says it is used for external individuals to apply for open positions and that applicant SS must be from within the network. There is only one associated bookmark - Initial Application. Is only one RD30 record used for any applicant using the module? what should the LAUA security look like? what should the RD30 record look like? etc.

Sorry--I misread your previous message. I have seen only one decent document that addresses some of your questions, and it was for the 7.2 SEA applications. You can still find it on Lawson's Support site --
http://support.lawson.com...sea72/technical.pdf.
Look at the section titled "Initial Application". It does not address your question about the RD30 record, however, so I'll see if I can find that out for you.
