We are currently trying to decide the proper way to get the data out of Lawson to determine which employees meet the 30 hour per week criteria.  We are going around in circle trying to determine how best to pull this data from Lawson, essentially focusing on what to do with employees who may have switched statuses during the reporting period.  Just wondering what you all were doing and if there was possible anything Lawson has provided that we may have missed.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, this is Terry Wier from Dashboard Gear,

While the reporting requirements are still somewhat undefined the Affordable Care Act requires organizations to report back through historical periods for new hires, by employee status, hours (the 30 hour per week criteria), etc. Most Lawson professionals know there is just no simple way to create reports from HR history data. Thus turnover, headcount, trending, and the Affordable Care requirements present significant problems.

Maybe only true solution to these issues and Lawson HCM reporting issues in general is a data warehouse created from the Lawson HR/PR/BN/LP/LTM data.  An enterprise class data warehouse Extracts the transaction data from the production system, Transforms it into meaningful data, and Loads it into several formats conducive to reporting (the ETL process). Historical reporting is now as easy as clicking on the date(s) for any measure you require.

If I can help you further please contact me.

      Regards,

      Terry

US Affordable Care Act (PR271) is a reporting tool to help determine Full and Part time employees by analyzing payroll records based on variable selection criteria settings. The US Affordable Care Act Reports Program will be located in the following directory: US Regulatory Reporting (PRMN.13) > Miscellaneous Reports (PRUS.4) > US Affordable Care Act Reports (PR271).

Employees can be filtered by Company, Reporting Entity, RE Process Level, Process Level, Employee, Employee Groups, Employee Status Codes, Pay Classes, and Salary Classes based on various “hire” dates. User defined Average Hours are available for various pay frequencies; Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly. There is an option to display Social Security Numbers on the reports and CSV files. End User security will be based on HR09 and HR10 settings.

The following ACA Reports and CSV formats are available:

Summary Reports of on-going and new hire employees – displays employee, SSN, address, average hours, and pay frequency.
Detail Reports of on-going and new hire employees – displays all payroll records for the employee based on selection criteria.
New Hire Initial Measurement Report – displays all payroll records for new hire employees based on “hire” date for a set duration of time.

The report option will determine if Summary or Detail report will be run, whereas New Hire Only option (under the Initial Measurement Period Heading) will determine if the New Hire Initial Measurement Report will be run based on date range, “hire” date and duration value entered.

We do not have an option for PR271 - what version are you referring to?

You probably need to take a CTP. It was delivered within the past year. We are on 901 and have it.

                Hi,

For those of you with PR271, how are you validating the information that you are getting when the PR271 report is run?  What parameters are you using when you run this report?

John, you mentioned CTP's were available... we are at 9.0.1 and my Administrator can't find them. Would you have the number by any chance? Thanks!

Reedry. Hi, we gave all our pay sum groups that would be covered under the act a pay class code. Then we developed our own Crystal report pulling hours for a given date range. At this point it gives us a simple way to get an idea of who all would be affected and what the impact to the organization would be.

shaack2 - what did you use to determine which pay sum groups need to be included? is there a source for which types of hours need to be included?
