We just completed our Benefits Open Enrollment in Lawson 8.03 with little issue, however immediately after we upgraded to 9 and we cannot get the New Hire Enrollment to function. When a new employee clicks the "New Benefits Enrollment" link, they will get to the welcome screen, however when they click the "continue" icon, the system will hang with a dialog box that that say's "retrieving current benefits" then "preparing your personalized enrollment", but if you click "continue" again or close the dialog window, they get the grey box browser warning:
"You may not make changes to your benefits online, please contact the benefits department. You already have current benefit elections"
I check the Lawson website and it states that this means the employee already has a benefits election for one of the plans used in the new hire process, but we've checked BN32, BS31, BS10 and there are absolutely NO benefits elections, not even default.
Anyone know what's causing this error?
Thanks!

Unlikely because I think you need BS31 to have a BS30 record but did you check the BS30 form? When we upgraded to 9 our enrollment process did not have issues. I do remember that sometimes I had issues where I would change who I was logging in as and it would not update immediately. Check the "Personal Profile" in ESS to make sure you are who you think you are...
Also, we did need to run QN732 to fix dates from prior enrollments where Lawson did not write benefit date records correctly. I can't see how this would have anything to do with your enrollment issue because your benefits are empty. (QN732 is an update job that changes benefit and deduction records to match - it can be run in "report only" mode then update mode.) I think if the dates are bad it gives a "overlapping dates error" so this is probably not your issue..

One more thought... Do you have a BS01 record?

We do have a BS01 record for new hire enrollments. When I run the HR155 process I can see that the employees who are trying to enroll are appropriately assigned to that group.
Also, I have tested six different employees from three different workstations, and each one is correctly identified. Every other feature of ESS seems to be working except the new hire enrollment. The Open Enrollment process seems to work fine since the upgrade, it's only the New Hire that doesn't work.
Thanks.

Do you have benefits that are auto enrolled. New Hire benefits enrollment is allowed only 1 time. If employees are auto enrolled in other benefits, i.e. group term life, then the 1 time new hire enrollment has been utilized. You can delete those auto enrollments and new hires will then be able to enroll via ESS new hire process.

Are you auto enrolling employees in any benefits that are offered in new hire enrollment? We manually set someone up for optional life on BN31.2 and when they went to enroll as a new hire, we got the same message. When we removed the manual entry we did, she was able to complete her enrollment.
Just an idea.

We also had a problem with some ESS screens hanging, we just updated the ESS to version 09 00 01 0003 and the CBL to version 09 00 01 0002. That resolved our problem with the ESS screens hanging and some employees had been unable to print paycheck stubs.
