    – New employees are not allowed to use vacation for the 1st 6 months of employment (13 pay periods), on LP03.3 I have it set up for the waiting period to be 6 months but it is allowing employees to use it anyways. o you know why it would ignore this setting?

So is this rule in LP03.3 working or not working?

Pick one of the new employee that can use the vacation without waiting 6 months and go to HR11/user field, check the date entered in "Time Accrual Date". What do you have?

In your LP03.3, right click on the Date User field and hit define, check "Time Accrual Date", it is active?

Thank you so much for your help! This turned out to be related to our setup on the Payroll Rule.
Here is the solution given by Lawson:

in reviewing the LP140 provided, the employee is not getting their accruals moved to available, so the fact that they are able to 'use' hours would not be related to your wait period but rather related to your setup on the Payroll Rule.

For usage transactions, if the employee has no balance (as this employee does not), you can set the 'Negative Balance Option' on the payroll rule to how you want usage processed.

As noted in the field help:
If you use Lawson Payroll, select the value that indicates whether you want to perform edits during time record entry to warn or error when balances are negative.

If you select 1, a warning is shown when balances are negative.
If you select 2, an error is shown when balances are negative.
If you select 3, the system will not check remaining balances.
If you select 4, the system reclassifies the balance as unpaid time.

The default is to perform the edit and give a soft warning message. Select 2 if you want an error that prevents the entry of a time record that would result in a negative balance.

                Hello,
Would anyone be able to share a users manual for Lawson Absence Management without compromising any company information? My company is about to go-live on this module, and I would like to review a users manual. Thank you.
