Here some information about the company I work for.
I work for Premier Health in Dayton Ohio. We use the LP application and run accrual plans for hourly employees and allotment for exempt employees. Our exempt plan is allotted once a year in March. We moved from having the exempt employees from accruing hours to getting a lump sump. We thought our set up was correct until we starting having issues when we notice employees changing their FTE the vacation hours were not adjusting. Then we notice that employees moving from regular exempt to and executive level was not adjusting. Then we wanted to get a heads up and run testing to see if we can get out plan to give the new allotment and it would not reset the hours. We did not realize that we need to put in a limit reset so that the hours reset back to zero or add a carryover. The way we have it currently setup is that the balance carries on but we need it to reset to 40 hours as of March 1 of each year. March 2015 will be the first full year using allotment. We have 14 accrual plans and 4 allotment plans. Our Payroll department run the vacation plans and HRIS fixes any errors and does the audits.
