We’re in the midst of an LSF 9.0 install, & have to decide if we want to upload history from 8.03.
The outside consultants we are using told us; that it is not required as part of the conversion to LSF9.0; but the project leaders want to pursue it.
I know HR521 will do the trick.; also heard there are some limitations to the program.
If anyone whose been thru this battle and knows the advantages /disadvantages of using hr521, I’d appreciate any feedback you have...
Thanks
John Henley

You might want to kick out your consultants, as it sounds like they clueless.
LSF9 is the environment on which the apps are running.
Assuming what you are really doing is an apps upgrade, from 8.0 apps to 9.0 apps, the upgrade process will handle the HRHISTORY just fine.
You absolutely should be migrating the HRHISTORY, and, in fact, the only situation I can think of where this would even be discussed is that you are changing platforms. But even in that case, why get rid of it?

i am sorry i did not make this a little clearer. the company i am with is part of an industry alliance, & as part of the this group requires Lawson 9.0 to be installed. Some members switched from other software to Lawson 9 & we had used Lawson for about 4 years. So this is a brand new - out of the box Lawson LSF9 install. I just to know if it reasonable or feasible to pull the data from our old Lawson sys using a BN521 & if so, what gotcha's are out there. I hope that makes my question a little clearer, sorry for not being more clear.

Yes, that makes more sense. I would argue in favor of bringing over as much historical data as you can, particularly employee status history, pay rate history (as well as payroll history assuming you will not have access to your old server), etc. etc.

thanks...
in your experience, are there any gotcha's to look for as far pulling this data & then applying this data to the new system -
