My Lawson database server took a dump.

I am running a very old Lawson version. I am not too familiar on how Lawson was initially setup.

Lawson resides on a Windows Server 2003 with SQL 2000.  Version 3.1.7.418

The database server crashed.  I rebuilt the server on Windows Server 2008, SQL 2005.  I restored the database(s).

When trying to login, its gives an error 'PROFILE : Possible Timeout.  Most often, this is because RMI server is not running or was started after the web server.  If so, restart RMI server and then web server'

It seems the application server  cannot communicate with the database.

    So my question is:

What needs to be done for it to reconnect to the new database?  I did change the IP on the new database server.  Is it hard coded?, where i have to change it?

Does Lawson have a application/gui where there is the setting for me to connect it to the new database?

Did it matter that i changed it from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005?

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you're unable to call me, let me see if I can provide very general info...

Version 3.1.7, means you would have been on Env 8.0.2 (later) or any 8.0.3.
GEN was still in lafile, so nothing to do there
LOGAN could have been in either, so check to see if you have a logan/MICROSOFT file
check the config files in LAWDIR/system (one to look at for sure is rmi.properties)
Other places would be in WEBDIR (where ever you have that), look for logan.env, and loganenv.js

I think there was a file somewhere in CATALINA_HOME, unless you're using WebSphere (would have been version 5.1 or 6.0.2, if I recall). In that case, you had to build your own ear files, and I don't recall where it's all buried now.

Without more info, that's all I recall from memory.
