We have upgraded aix 5.3 to 6.1, and are redeploying lawson as per kb 5431593
However, installer gave us a LDAP error:
Fatal: [install-sec.pl] RMPARENTDN, o=lwsn,DC=dfkcorp,DC=com, cannot be found on your ldap server
And now we can't start lawson. (TDS is running just fine)
Looking at ldap with jxplorer (using login info in install.cfg) shows the entire COM tree, with our DN in it, is completely gone.
Now, I'm no ldap expert, so am I missing anything here? Is there anything we can do besides restore from tape?

The upgrade from AIX 5.3 to AIX 6.1 is destructive
According to
http://www.ibm.com/develo...a?messageID=14565812
it deletes some files, and I can confirm llibback-rdbm.a is gone, which is what tivoli uses to talk to its database.
The database runs, tivoli runs, but tivoli can't connect to database so it runs in configuration mode, which is why i can connect to it with jxplorer, but don't see anything
I'm installing tivoli 6.3 for aix 6.1 using the download from mylawson now. I also have my party hat on.

After installing tivoli 6.3, and migrating the directory instance from 6.1 to 6.3 successfully (tds/install_tds.bin and the installer automatically kicks off a management tool which you can use to mirate the instance) we now have lawson back up and running
The key was catching the fact that ldap was running in configuration mode causing the symptom, nothing else!
