There are only options for CSV, xls, pdf, etc. I do not see an option for DATA ONLY excel.
How can this be accomplished on the scheduled LBI reports? (It IS an option on the on demand report configurations, but not scheduled. Why? And is there a work around?

I have had the same issue. From what I know there is no option for excel data import. The closes was export output in the form of csv.

if you go to Report Administration > Maintain Reports > History link for the offending report > Details link for one of the historical instances > Output Settings is Microsoft Excel Data Only (XLD) checked?

Yes it is checked when I follow those steps.
But the default output in the drop down of the historical instance is the XLS.
To me what the historical instances say though doesn't matter does it? The real issue is when you view the Schedule details of the report in question, and go to Bursting and Distribution, there is a drop down for output type. In that drop down you only get RPT, XLS, PDF, DOC, CSV, but no Excel Data only option. (The main report itself has output settings for excel data only, and that works when the report is run on demand) Its only the delivery\scheduled version of the report that doesn't seem to have an option for excel data only.

Ah, I thought the issue was that the user was not seeing the option when trying to export from a historical instance via the Crystal Viewer. There is no way that I know of to modify the options for Output Source on the schedule Bursting screen.

I email spreadsheets from several reports in excel data only format, Are you sure that the xls data only option is selected as one of the allowed format types on the report itself as long as I have that format checked on the report it shows as an option in the bursting/delivery section of the schedule. Not the default type but just an allowed format.

See the attachment.
It is the screen for a particular report we have.
When selecting from "Output Type" you will see the options in the drop down are limited to XLS, RPT, PDF, DOC, CSV
There is NO option for XLS (Data Only) as there are in the normal report configuration.
This is what I am referring to.

"Are you sure that the xls data only option is selected as one of the allowed format types on the report itself "
Yes. It is selected on the Configuration of the report itself.
But not available in the drop down for Output Type in the Bursting and Distribution screen.
