Several items were updated in Lawson via add in to change their bin locations.

Now, when the items are accessed via the MSCM hand held device, both the old and new bin locations are being seen.

    How can this be correcred?

You uploaded into the IC81 table? As a change a seq / shelf location ? Or an additional location? In IC81 can you see item in both locations?

Or are they stock items? With stock items you have to move the stock on hand as well. If there are no reqs or POs out for them, here's a trick that works.

Change the bin tracking flag to N and change to the new bin location.
Now change the bin tracking flag to Y and the stock on hand will automatically move to the new location.

If there are active reqs or POs, you can transfer the available stock on hand via IC26.

The Add in for the IC12 was used.

Michelle - sounds like if the IC12 add in was used, then I should follow your suggestion, correct?

Yes - and you can use add-ins to make these changes as well.

My user just told me that he typically uses the IC90 when making bin changes.

Looks like the IC26 should be used whenever a bin needs to be changed or added instead of the IC12.

They told me that when the add in was used to change the bin location, they used the IC12 and instead of the value changing, it added an additional location, creating the multiples seen in the MSCM hand held.

Wonder why it added it and didn't change it. Maybe they used the wrong FC??

When they change it in IC12, all they are changing is the location where the item will go the next time it is ordered or returned. Changing the stock-on-hand's location is the key part. That's why I like the trick of switching bin tracking on and off and having the system move it for you. That leaves just the items with exceptions that have to be changed in the other IC screens instead of everything.

If you use RQ35 for req returns the system defaults to the bin originally used on the requisition.  IC44 is a good screen to quickly see if the item is in multiple bins without drilling around much.  The IC12 trick is great if you don't have open transactions in play!

IC238 is a great report to run also. Review it in .pdf mode and anywhere you see spaces between the lines is where an item is in more than one bine.
