All:
We have been having some wireless connectivity issues with our Dolphin 7850 handhelds.
The symptoms are: The device will not connect to the server to do any uploads. Yet, we can ping the device from anywhere, so we know that it is still attached to the network.
Seems to only occur at one of our campuses and we've been feverishly trying to determine what is different for our wireless AP's config at that campus vs others.
Doing a soft reboot re-establishes the connection and it even saves all of their counts- so the upload works after that.
Anyone else having similar issues?
Anything else that I could/should include in this post?

Greg,
We had similar issues with our old Motorola handhelds. We worked with Lawson for almost a year to resolve the issue. We tried firmware updates and that helped but not completly. We finally bought new handhelds as ours were over 3 years old and that along with upgrading MSCM at the same time has resolved our issue.
What version of MSCM are you running?
Have you tried to install new firmware on the handhelds?
Did you contact Dolphin to see what assistance they can provide?
We also installed SOTI/MOBI on our handhelds so we can remote into them and see what is happening along with pull the log files immediately.
We ran into issues with handhelds offsite/roaming that the log files would overwrite by the time the person got back to where we could pull the logs.
We never got a definate on the cause but something between MSCM, our network and the handhelds did not play well together. Sporatic downtimes did not sit well with our users. This one was a needle in a haystack. The good part is that Lawson has some good people that can help troubleshoot the log files if you open the case.

Thanks for the response, Mark! I "believe" that we have this resolved. The wireless guy had changed the settings on the access points to force the devices up... I believe when he got this setting switched to allow weak signals, things cleared up.
They are users, though, and don't always report everything that they encounter, so will keep you updated.

We are looking at upgrading firmware, etc on these handhelds as we've had them for a while now... So that we can eliminate the B radio setting from our wireless network and go totally G.
