Can't print in Portal after install

We experienced a couple of issues right after the install, but I believe that is all because we moved systems. All of our 803 stuff was on system A, but we installed LSF9 on system B. Did you move systems?

Are you trying to print pdf documents? That will be different than printing the normal Lawson reports in text mode.

Here's what I'd do: If you are trying to get text mode printing to work, test with LID. LID will use the same printing mode that Portal text-mode does... only with LID it will show you the errors!

If you are trying to get pdf reports to print... that is all Windows, and if you can print other stuff from Windows (Word docs, etc) you should be able to print pdf reports from Portal. It would all depend on what local printers you have defined in Windows.

It sounds like we did a similar install. 

We're trying to print anything and nothing works in Portal.  LID continues to print just fine without any issues or errors - well a slight issue caused a minor delay with the jobs in LID getting spooled on the network printers, but that issue was corrected right away.

I'm just left wondering if the install wasn't completed properly.  Our Unix Admins have logged the issue with GSC and are currently going back and forth with them.

Are you referring to LSF9 or 8.0.x ? I do know there were some issues in LSF9 SP3 or SP4 with Portal printing.  If you used LID it was fine, and PDFs were fine.  It was just if you printed to a system/network printer via Portal.  It was related to using LAWSONUID in lajs.cfg... 

John - I'm referring to LSF9. We also recently installed ESP4 - within the last week or so.

Yes, that's (LSF9 ESP4) when I noticed it as well...in my case it was Windows-related, which is interesting since you said you're on UNIX...
I think you might want to investigate using LAWSONUID in lajs.cfg to do the printing....
