We have installed all of our users with the same Smart Office profile and everyone is running Office 2010. When some of us export to excel, we actually go to an xlsx document - others open up a csv document. All of our settings are the same. We were on an Ask the Expert call with Lawson a couple of weeks ago but he had no idea and someone on the call said they had the problem but thought it was an Office version issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

      Hi Mary
That was probably me.  We have a few people that have both Excel 2003 & 2007. If they had Excel open before LSO, they would only get a csv file.  If they made sure to open Excel 2007 before LSO then they would get the XLS option.

Thanks for  your response, Tracy. I'll try that and see if it makes a difference. I thought maybe it was tied to add-ins but we installed that for one of the users and he's still opening up in csv. I think I will log a ticket witih Lawson.

We haven't experienced the issue, we are running Office 2010, WIN 7 on most of the PC's. You could try to add excel as an external application that can open from within LSO to see if that helps. I would not expect it to but it is worth a shot. If you need details on how to add that external app let me know.
