My Lawson Smart Office just quit working and now won't reinstall.  When I try to sign-in, just after I put my password in the following message comes up:  "Lawson Client has stopped working".  INFOR support has given me the most recent URLs and I've checked the list of MS Windows 10 hotfixes that are "broken"....nothing seems to apply.  Has anybody seen this error before, and what did you do to fix it?

    Thanks!

      Hi,

This kind of error is a tricky one since it isn't handled by our own error dialog. I've seen these types of errors before but I'm not sure what this specific error is caused by.

Do you use standard features only or do you have features developed by partners or in-house as well?
To check if you can login without loading features you can try and access the client in Safe Mode. When you are on the login screen press F8 to display the safe mode option. Check the checkbox and then enter user /password to login. Does that work without issues?

It might be useful to support to provide the client log. (https://smartofficeblog.c...-trouble-shooting/).

This is what I call a "hard" crash so there might not be anything in the log but it is worth a look. In some cases with crashes like this it can help to update the driver for the graphics as well as repairing the .Net version. But since you are on 10.0.5.0.38 there are 17 releases with new features and fixes for that version so perhaps the issue is something that has been corrected. The latest version for 10.0.5 is 10.0.5.4.29. I would suggest to apply all fixes.
