I have a user that constantly, well, okay, frequently has issues with her Add-ins.  I have had to reinstall it numerous times in the past few years.  She just got a new pc, and I installed our latest (same one that the rest of us use)  version of addins (9.0.3.1601).  She only uses the Query Wizard, so that is all I installed.  But when she logs in, she gets no popup screen - the "Lawson Query Wizard for Excel" screen.  She gets nothing.  I mean it looks like she logs in, but no screen appears.  She can log in to the Addins on other people's pc's, fine, and gets the popup, and can use addins, so I know it is something with her machine or her install.  But I am clueless.  I have seen this before - I know I have...a long while back, and it
it's buried somewhere deep in my brain .  Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Prior to reinstalling the software did you delete Office Add-ins directory located at C:\Program Files\Lawson Software\

We found deleting the directory helpful on reinstalls.

That folder was not there at all, before I installed it on this new machine.  It was just created, new

However, I did have to create the LoginDir folder, and add her full control rights to it.  Which is weird, because I did all this on her machine - logged in as HER, and she is an admin of her pc, so I don't understand why it would not assign her full control of a folder that she created.   That may be related to this problem somehow, but I can't figure it out.  If I log in to addins on her machine, I have the same issue - no popup window.  But on my machine - it works fine.

I just went down there an reinstalled the addins...and it still does the exact same thing - no popup.  Do you think I should try it yet again...after deleting the Offce Add0ins folder?  I mean...the install was a fresh one...and it didn't work.

Probably the first thing you did - but did you compare the IE Browser Internet Options between her PC and on the PC on which she doesn't have this problem?

No - I didn't.  Addins don't open in a browser, so I didn't really think that was it.  I did turn off the pop-up blocker...but that didn't make any difference.  There are so so many internet options...I wouldn't even know where to start as far as comparing them.  The other pc is  way down the hall in another area, so I can't just look at them side by side.  Any suggestions as to what to look for?

I'm going to remote access her machine right now and see if I see any weird stuff installed.

            ....

Nope...nothing odd....no 3rd party toolbars or anything like that.

i believe i encountered something similar back a while ago. i'm pretty sure the issue was the permissions on the PC for that user. Pretty sure we had to make them an admin of their PC. double-check your permissions again and check the permissions on folders where the app is installed. i believe they needed '777' permissions (full read/write).

Yeah - I looked at her machine yesterday and I swear it looked like she was an admin...but maybe not.  I'll have to have a tech check that.  I can't remember the definititive way to tell that.
