We are having a problem with users that have just upgraded to Windows 7 and can no longer log in to the Lawson Add-ins. They are using the same version of Office/Excel as before (2007). I opened a case with Lawson and they state that Add-ins is "not certified to run with Windows 7 or VISTA. Well I have VISTA (and Office 2007), and I can user the add-ins fine. So I'm curious if there are any other folks out there have been successful in running the add-ins on a Windows 7 pc.
FWIW, the error that they are getting is shown below.

I'm using Add-Ins v. 9.0.3.1 with 64 bit Windows 7 and Excel 2007 but not seeing any issues like in your error message.

I "think" that there was/is a post about that on here somewhere... If I remember correctly, you need to change some registry entries for add-ins to work properly... let me see if I can find it quickly.

Thanks. A little bit earlier, Lawson reopened the case after finding that the MOA documentation does indeed state that it is compatible with Win 7. So we will see what happens.

Greg, I did have one user check those registry entries already, she already had them set correctly. But I think I might have the others try it - her error was slightly different. It can't hurt.
Edit: Nope...that didn't help. I'll see what Lawson comes up with.

Cindy
One issue we had with windows 7 was not all users had admin rights to their pc's. The install would appear to be completed but it did not install correctly. We had to uninstall MOA and reinstall by right clicking and running as the admin.

John, we always give our back-office users Admin rights. It's too much hassle for our support folks otherwise. So that wasn't the issue.
But we do have a solution, albeight a temporary one. The Add-ins login works for the Win 7 users, when they use the
webserver
url. In the past, we have always logged in with the appserver address. Somehow something in Win 7 has made the appserver address not resolvable - at least for the production system. It's the same for the Lawson Security login as well. We'll have to look at it.

We have found that the ACL level needs to be turned down all the way and this alleviates some of the issues add-ins have with Windows 7. Also we found that the version has some to do with this. We are having an issue with an XP person and we have had them go to the P2478 version while the Win7 machines can run p8995 fine. Ah, gotta love Lawson!
